This workshop is co-organized by Dr. phil. habil. Hilmar Schmiedl-Neuburg (Philosophisches Seminar, University of Kiel) and me, Mgr.

Benjamin Kaiser (PhD student at the FHS). At the workshop the presentations will discuss the relation between philosophy and literature, as well as aspects of philosophy as literature.

Another aim of the workshop is to deepen the academic contacts between the FHS and the Department of Philosophy of the University of Kiel - since 2016 there is an Erasmus+ cooperation, but besides that, Prague and Kiel also share a common history in phenomenological philosophy: Husserl scholar Ludwig Landgrebe studied in Prague and became a highly influential professor in Kiel in 1947. Among Landgrebe's scholars were Hans Blumenberg and Kurt Hübner, which both did research on myth.

Myth, as a common ground for philosophy as well as literature, by combining thinking with narrating, could be seen as one starting point to discuss the relation of philosophy and literature, which will be the topic of the workshop. Following speakers came: Prof.

Christine Blättler, Melanie Reichert, Heike Behnke, Katia Hansen, Marcus Martin, Dr. Hilmar Schmiedl-Neuburg (all from the Philosophical Department of the University of Kiel, Germany); Sandro Herr (University of Heidelberg); doc.

Dr. phil. Hans Rainer Sepp, Mgr.

Filip Gurjanov, Dr. phil. Cathrin Nielsen, Mgr.

Markus Hodec, Marius Sitsch, Mgr. Benjamin Kaiser (all FHS UK), Tomáš Sigmund, PhD (VŠE Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze).

On the first day, 15.6.2018, the colleagues from Prague would take the opportunity to present our department and faculty to the colleagues from Kiel. This is the reason why on the first day we would meet at the faculty building in Jinonice.

On the second day we would meet at the AKC in the city centre, which is much closer to the accomodation of the colleagues from Kiel (Residence Dlouhá 17) and gives the possbility to also introduce them to the AV CR and the SIF.
