Uveitis is a relatively rare type of inflammatory eye disease. Its various forms affect mostly patients of productive age and they can thus have a serious socio-economic impact.
Diagnostics and treatment of uveitis are based on using innovative approaches and close interdisciplinary cooperation. A rapid development can be seen especially in therapy of non-infectious forms of uveitis, which focuses more and more on influencing immune response on the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
