Abstract
Nowadays, generic substitution is commonly used in many drugs belonging to distinct therapeutic groups. Its introduction into common praxis has been done with the aim to minimize the costs of the illnesses treatment.
However, according to recent knowledge, it cannot be used automatically, especially in drugs with narrow therapeutic window. In such case, it could cause an increased risk of adverse reactions, drug interactions, decreased compliance etc.
