Abstract
Ancient Egyptian religion was present in every sphere of life of Nile valley inhabitants and oit was influenced by the environment. Even animals and plants, connected to many aspects of various deities, were incorporated into the religion.
The paper is devoted to the religious significance of the lotus flower and the wng-plant in the Old Kingdom.
