Dealing with approximately the last 15 years of the life and work of Adriena Šimotová, this contribution sought to identify and analyse certain philosophical, artistic, historical and other correlates of her late art. It also provides a general overview of the artist's exhibitions in the period under consideration as regards both her individual exhibitions and participation in joint exhibitions, ranging from her retrospective in the National Gallery Trade Fair Palace in Prague (2001) to her last individual exhibition during her life, held in 2012.
Publications dedicated to her art in the period under consideration were covered. A note was also devoted to Šimotová's serious health problems to demonstrate her remarkable personal qualities and strength in coping with this condition and other difficulties in her life.
The artist's close relationships with her friends and their significance in her art were pointed out. In addition, the contribution explored the response to her work, both in the Czech Republic and abroad, while she was still alive. Šimotová's artistic and personal legacy was briefly discussed as her message for the future and possible ways of preserving, cherishing, and communicating it were envisaged.
