Reflection of Military Camps on the Pages of Military Handbooks Used During the Thirty Years War

Abstract

This paper deals with presentation of military camps in the military handbooks from 16th and 17th century with special focus on the books, which were popular among military officers in the time of the Thirty Years' War. In the paper the genre of military handbooks is described and the most famous military theorists of the researched era are introduced.

The main part of the paper deals with the ideal form of period military camps presented in the military handbooks.
