Abstract

The chapter deals with the history of Spain from the beginning of the 20th century to the end of the Spanish Civil War (1939). It focuses not only on the most significant political, economic and social changes in the country during the period under review, but also on the uniqueness of Spain’s historical development, as well as on Czechoslovak-Spanish relations in the years in question.
