On 25-26. In June 2018, an international scientific conference was held at the Academic Conference Center in Prague.
In addition to 12 Czech experts, scientists from Austria (3), Germany (5), Switzerland (2), Israel (2) , Russia (1) and Ukraine (2). The various contributions devoted to various aspects of the study of the Crimean phenomenon, from ancient times through the Crimean Chanate and the first annexation of the Crimea to Russia to the present.
The effort of the project is for the first time to systematically describe the literary topos of the Crimea, how this space is depicted in beautiful literature. In addition to the Russian literary view of the Crimea (which is currently only partially elaborated), the view of Ukrainian literature on the Crimean area (and also the view of the Crimean-Tatar literature) was taken into account.
Emphasis was placed on the Crimea as a multicultural and multiethnic space as well as on the idea of this place as "earthly paradise". From the current topics, it is worth mentioning the analysis of contemporary Ukrainian pop culture and the Internet space, where the so-called media war on the Crimea takes place.
The conference took place within the framework of the AV21 Strategy - Europe and the State: Between Barbarism and Civilization and under the auspices of the Czech Society for Slavonic, Balkanistic and Byzantine Studies, z.s.
