This special section of New Perspectives is primarily meant to be an academic reflection of the 'Prague Agenda', a term widely used for the Obama administration's aims in the field of nuclear disarmament, arms control, and non-proliferation. From a Central European perspective, however, the term 'Prague Agenda' also represents a series of international conferences annually held in Prague between 2011 and 2016.
For half a decade, the Prague Agenda conferences were a place for scholars, experts, and policy-makers to take stock of the relevant developments following Obama's famous 2009 speech at Hradčany Square. The authors featured in this special section jointly participated in the last edition of this conference in December 2016 and agreed to further expand their presentations into short academic articles that would examine the Prague Agenda and issues related to weapons of mass destruction (WMD) from various angles and perspectives.
