In the EU, there is a legislative process running regarding the often discussed proposal of the European Commission on the Pan-European Pension Product (PEPP). Several European associations and insurance undertakings have expressed their concerns.
The goal of this brief presentation is not to directly analyse individual parameters of the proposal but rather to open the discussion on Czech market. In spite of the Czech products of pension additional insurance and additional pension savings having certain freedom as compared to strict regulations in some of the members states, it is apparent that PEPP will be a major challenge to the functioning of pension systems across EU.
