Abstract
The aim of the lecture is to draw the attention of young doctors to basic gender issues related to the field of surgery and medicine in general, ie. gender stereotypes and their influence within this field of medicine, the situation of men and women in surgery as for reconciling work and family life and finally the gender aspects of surgery and medicine in the narrower sense of the word.
