Positive measures (affirmative actions, specific measures, "positive discrimination") continue to be highly controversial in the context of reducing the imbalance in representation and the negative situation of women (and in some cases also men) in employment and the labour market in the Czech Republic. The aim of the presentation is therefore to focus on the main areas of this group of practically oriented measures and to evaluate them with a prism of applied ethics, with theoretical grounding especially in situational and hermeneutic ethics.
In other words, the aim is to help answer the question: Are affirmative actions really such "evil" as they are often presented and viewed, or is it a legitimate tool for eliminating gender disproportions, especially in the context of the labour market and employment in the Czech Republic?
