On the basis of the historiographical sources of Czech origin, from Kosma's Czech Chronicle from the first quarter of the 12th century to the Old Czech chronicle of so-called Daliomil from the beginning of the second decade of the 14th century, the author follows the origin and development of the Czech nobility. This process can be traced back to the sources from the first traces of the prominent group of the inhabitants of the Czech state to the established social group, which in the course of the 13th century enforced itself in the social and political life of the country.
