A Long Way to the Lateran Treaties. Diplomatic relations of the Holy See and Italy since the rise of fascism to power until the conclusion of the Lateran treaties

Abstract

The study deals with diplomatic relations between the Holy See and fascist Italy in 1922-1929. It follows the final stage of the negotiations on the so-called Roman question that was opened after the World War I.

It focuses on individual meetings and analyzes the demands of both parties, which, after a series of negotiations, resulted in the signing of the Lateran Treaty in February 1929.
