Abstract
The aim of the publication is to provide readers with an introductory insight into the relatively complex issues of banking as a specific economic field. Attention is paid to the history and present of banks and to the functioning of the banking system, the monetary theory and politics are also introduced.
The vast amount of space in the book is attributed to money and interest. The banking system is introduced along with its core characteristics, with attention being paid to both central and commercial banking.
Banking products are also not forgotten and, as a superstructure, the financial markets that are inherent in banking are also included in the publication.
