Data on non-consensual sexual preferences (voyeurism, exhibitionism, toucherism and frotteurism, stranger rape, sexual murder) are scarce and are largely drawn from forensic samples. This may motivate premature and even false conclusions about the nature of these preferences (e.g. that they are intimately connected to psychopathy and/or general criminal tendencies, low intelligence or social pathology).
There is also not a universal agreement, whether preference for non-consensual sexual activities and sadism are independent or interconnected. To fill in this knowledge gap, we carried out a population based on representative survey, in the Czech Republic, Europe, in 2016.
