About difficultness of grammar in teaching Czech for nonnative speakers

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2018

Abstract

We consider difficult not only everything that is new, unknown, different, insufficiently describes and explained, but also phenomena and categories which seem to be close and similar to those in the source language. An important role is also played by the nature of the grammar category, its formal and semantic parametres.

It is also necessary to mention the typological and genealogical difference between the foreigner's mother tongue and the foreign language, etc. The problem is insufficient attention paid in textbooks of Czech for foreigners to meanings (functions) of grammar categories and insufficient comments on their usage.
