Richard Lehký was one of the most important people in the relations between Czechoslovakia and Argentina in the interwar period. He settled in Argentina already before the First World War and after the war he began to promote the Czechoslovak products and he alsowanted to increase the Czechoslovak export to the Argentine market.
He was also known and respected among the compatriots. During the period Lehký had several functions as honorary general consul, representative of Škodovy závody or Breitfeld & Daněk or president of the Chamber of Commerce.
However, its role throughout the period is little known and this paper tries to discover his importance in the context of mutual relations. The presentation is based on the materials of the Czech archives and on the titles that deal with the development of both countries in the interwar period.
