An Experiential Approach to Deification: Lessons Learned from Hesychasm, Ignatian Spirituality and (Post)Modern Mysticism

Abstract

The chapter explores deification with insights learned from the Hesychast and the Ignatian traditions, as well as from modern and post-modern philosophical mysticism (esp. Wittgenstein and Derrida).

The main attention is given not to the "final product", but to the process of deification as a journey.
