Abstract
The book is designed as a clear material that collects information about the latest findings in the pathogenesis of scar tissue healing. Attention is focused on the scars resulting from the thermal injury and scar disparities after scarring from scars to other insults.
There is also a clear overview of the modern treatment of burns, including artificial skin treatment and the use of nanofibers. The main chapters are focused on objectification of scars, clinical and histological differences of hypertrophic and keloid healing.
A separate chapter is the prevention of the development of pathological scars in relation to the age, sex, incision, the character of the cut, etc. The key part of the book consists of a chapter on treatment divided into three subchapters: conservative treatment (elastic aids, application of silicones), semiinvasive eg laser, microneedling, and surgical treatment of scars, including state-of-the-art surgical methods using skin replacements.
Scarring issues such as pigmentation and itching are also omitted. Finally, there are practical advice for patients on how to do normal life, including answers to specific questions.
Everything is complemented by a rich photographic documentation and some interesting case reports.
