Evolution and neuropsychology of happiness

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2018

Abstract

Happiness is often considered an exclusively human property, and that corresponds to the ever increasing number of social sciences. Like many other emotions, we share the ability to experience happiness with non-human animals as well.

In the first half of the lecture we will tell what makes happy other animals or what the evolution of happiness in the original human groups of hunters and gatherers looked like. The next section will present the current findings of neuroscience on the neurobiological basis of happiness.
