Abstract

Literary science has inspired in other humanities and their rules since its very beginning. This paper deals with the particular case of fruitful inspiration and application of rules invented by Gabriel Tarde, a French sociologist.

Romanian historian and literary critic Eugen Lovinescu used Tarde's theories when he formed his opinions about Romanian civilization and literature. They should also support his ideas about the necessity of openness of Romanian culture to foreign influences.
