Abstract
The study analyses the self-contradictory personality of Pavel Juráček, a scriptwriter and director of Czechoslovak New Wave using part 3 of his published diaries which comprise the exceptional period of 1960s in Juráček's artistic work and also his view as a direct participant of Czechoslovak cinematography and the so-called New Wave.
