Abstract
A book Prague 1848-1918 was published to accompany the exhibition of the same name which was presented at City of Prague Museum. This work summarizes significant events in the context of Prague history in the period of 1848-1918 through the comments as well as the reproductions of historical records, i. e. city plans, photodocumentation, oil paintings and graphic sheets. The book content includes six thematical frames:
1) revolutionary events in 1848 in Prague,
2) the city planning development with the special regards to the impact of the demolition of the city walls after Austro-Prusian war,
3) Prague theaters in the second half of 19th century,
4) General Land Centennial Exhibition in Prague in 1891,
5) Biographies of 13 mayors of City of Prague in 1848,
6) Origins of Czechoslovakia in the context of Prague.
