Abstract
The presentation focused on various social functions the local history practices has performed in the concemporary small towns. This ws exemplified on the example of several small towns in the region of Vysočina in Czech Republic.
The paper discussed several media of local history and heritage representation and adressed the question about the role of size of a community (its smallness) as ambivalent factor in local history practices.
