The children are in fairy tales and in the Czech culture confronted with the concept of the soul. This fact was found in the earlier investigation of children's ideas about man (Büttner, Bravená).
What ideas children have about soul, where the soul lives, how it manifests itself and it is in some way related to faith? The paper deals with interviews with preschool children on this complex topic. In the research probe will be used book from the Israeli writer Na'ama Golomb with the titel "Zior ha-nefesch" (Soul bird).
The goal is to read the whole book with each child and to explore on one hand the possibilities of the book as a supporting medium in such a complex topic and on the other hand the children responses and reactions.
