Abstract
The narative about St. Ivan and the figure of St.
Ivan itself is in the history of Czech culture quite provoking, since the very late scribal preservation of the hagiographically stylized story about a hermit from the beginnings of the Bohemian Christianity. The lecture was focused on the analysis of those texts, which performed the theme of hermitism by the means of the Baroque poetics and which also re-wrote the narativ about St.
Ivan in the sense of the Early Modern Catholic, especially Jesuitic devotion.
