Abstract

The study deals with the way two realistic authors of the 19th century, the Austrian Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach and Czech Karolina Světlá, depicted "Women of Action" in their works. Two works are being compared from the point of view of "Women of Action": the novelette Mašlan's Frau by Ebner-Eschenbach with Světlá's novel Frantina.
