Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2018

Abstract

This paper focuses on the Czech translations of African-American literature. It maps the various functions this literature has served during the Cold War and also problematizes the ways a specific concept of race was developed with the help of these texts.

This paper is partly based on the topic of my dissertation and combines transnational perspective with translatological analysis.
