Abstrakt
A speech about the extraordinary personality of F. Samuel Fritz, S.J. (1654-1725): about the contrast between his Czech homeland and the place of his activities in the tropics of the Amazonas basin regarding the clima, the cultural and educational standards, and about his aim to share his European background with (and in favour of) the inhabitants of the missions of upper Maraňon (joinery, sculpture, construction, linguistics, cartography).
