Abstract
Uranium dihydride, UH2, analogous to NpH2, PuH2, and other f-metal dihydrides with CaF2 structure, was synthesized by reactive sputter deposition and characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy. Magnetometry indicates ferromagnetism with the Curie temperature lower than for UH3.
