Abstract
The paper focuses on the importance and concept of geometry in teaching mathematics at lower and upper secondary schools. It also deals with the pupils' relationship to geometry and specific problems in understanding pupils with the basic concepts of Euclidean geometry.
It points to the connection between school geometry and the preparation of future mathematics teachers in this field. The lecture includes illustrations of pupils' or students' solutions of the tasks from synthetic geometry.
