Abstract

Kidney injury is among frequent complications of pharmacotherapy in both outpatients and inpatients. Although it most often isa condition that is usually asymptomatic and resolves spontaneously without developing serious sequelae, in some cases it maylead to temporary or permanent loss of renal function and the need for replacement of renal function.

In hospitalized patients,in particular, acute kidney injury is associated with high morbidity and mortality. This paper presents a review of potential nephrotoxicityof common anti-infective agents with respect to the needs of a specialist in outpatient practice.
