Abstract
The aim of the article is to present the personality of Ferdinand Hýža and his stay in Brazil, he visited three times during his trip. This paper also attempts to highlight his importance for Brazil-Czechoslovakia relations because in the twenties of the past century he was compared to the more famous minister Vlastimil Kybal, but in our time, his person and his meaning were overlooked unjustifiably.
