Abstract
The chapter on seven pages presents criteria for rational surgical treatment of the locally advanced rectal cancers in the distal third. Discussed are available surgical techniques - abdominoperineal resection or extralevator excision regarding the oncosurgical results.
Described are also methods how to solve defects after extensive excision.
