The lecture was focused on the issue of written expression among pupils at the fifth grade of basic schools, which was examined in the GAUK research project. Test of written expression was created and then assigned to the pupils of the fifth grade of the basic school to evaluate written production of children.
It was inspired by some foreign diagnostic instruments and one instrument from the Czech Republic, which is used for university students (Cimlerová et al., 2014). The aim of the cross-sectional study was to verify the corresponding value of test of written expression at fifth grade pupils and to compare the pupil's results in terms of gender, font pattern (Comenia Script font and bound font pattern) and the presence or absence of specific learning disorder.
The current status of diagnostics of written expression in the Czech Republic was also discussed.
