The purpose of this pre-research study was to verify, within a school environment, the knowledge of the proposed standards for physical education at the end of the primary education stage. The research group comprised 669 pupils from the 9th year of primary school.
The basic research method was a general-knowledge test containing 22 tasks administered by way of an electronic on-line form. The didactic test was based on indicators and illustrative tasks of standards created by a working group under the leadership of the National Institute for Education and with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
The average success rate of the entire group of students was 58%. An item analysis based on the classical theory test (CTT) was carried out for individual test tasks.
A difficulty value Q, difficulty index P and discrimination ability of the task d were calculated for individual items. In this regard, two tasks with an unsuitable sensitivity value were reported.
The task success rate covered the range of reasonable values (25% - 77%). The reliability estimate using the internal consistency method pursuant to Cronbach's alpha came to 0.8, which can be considered acceptable reliability.
