Abstract

The Methodological Handbook deals with the issue of integrating children with a different mother tongue into nursery schools in the Czech Republic. It is based on the principles of inclusion and is intended for teachers and heads of nursery schools, work school counseling facilities, preparatory classes and other institutions working with children with a different mother tongue at pre-school age.

The individual chapters deal with the Czech legal regulation and the conditions of education of children with a different mother tongue in the Czech Republic, initial adaptation of the child, language development, communication, support of the integration of the child into the collective and other important areas. It contains information and recommendations to facilitate this process for both children and their parents and teachers themselves.

The second revised edition of the guide responds to legislative changes in support of children with special educational needs after the amendments to the legislation in 2016 and beyond.
