The case report describes a case of a female patient treated for type 1 diabetes for 37years. In this patient an unpleasant experience associated with hypoglycaemia ledto the development of maladaptive behaviours consisting in the application of prandialinsulin after meals (even with higher glycaemia).
Due to the subsequent correction ofsignificant postprandial hyperglycaemia by extra insulin doses, there was a significantincrease in glycaemic variability and overall deterioration of until then excellent dia -betes compensation. The situation has been solved by a prescription of faster insulinaspart, which the patient can apply with the meal or just after it.
