The National Unity and Its Origins as a Key-Myth of the Time of Troubles in Russia

Abstrakt

The purpose of the paper is to analyze the national unity motive and its functioning in Russian literature and state practice from the Time of Troubles (early 17th century) to mid-19th century when the motive was definitely shaped. We will also focus on the role of the national unity idea as a part of national mentality in the Russian Empire and modern Russian state.
