Looking Back, Ten Years in the Center of Environmental Education at Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague
Abstract
The Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague belongs to the modern ones universities that respond to the conclusions of the UN conference in Moscow (1987) and included environmental education and education in educational programs sustainable development. The paper will present selected activities of Center of Environmental Education which have been realized in the last 10 years at the faculty.
These are activities of an entire university (involvement in Environmental Research under P02, accreditation of the subject Education for Sustainable Development, etc.), (competition for the dean's award in the field of ecology and environmental issues, placing of sorted waste containers etc.), activities in the main building Faculty of Education at M. Rettigová 4 (CO2 measurement, campaign for tap water, Earth Day celebrations, etc.) as well as activities aimed at to further / lifelong learning of teachers (SMASH, Alma mater, School Science, etc.).
In the end, successful selections will be presented (and unsuccessful) action strategies that were developed predominantly in the subject Education for Sustainable Development. he aim of the paper is to introduce colleagues from other universities or faculties exemplifying good practice and contributing to the last the modern theme of "greening the operation of colleges".
