Abstract

After the refugee crisis of 2015 political leaders of some Visegrad countries began to justify their refusal to accept refugees with the reference to the Central European experience and identity. The paper traces back such a type of discourse to some of its past antecedents.

It pays the special attention to the dissident Central Europeanism of the 1980s of the last century.
