Abstract
The lexicon entry presents the life and extensive work of the German writer of the middle of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Karl May is well known as the author of adventurous novels with Indian themes and novels with the theme of orient, which is an intercultural aspect.
His works are known both in book and film version (Vinnetou).
