Abstract

Interview with Antonín Jančařík from the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague, about the causes of the shortage of teachers in Czech schools and about the possibilities of its solution. At present, several thousand skilled teachers are missing, and this number may rise to twenty thousand at the ten-year horizon.

An important trend in the preparation of future teachers is the reinforcement of professional didactics, the increase in the practice of preparing future teachers and the discussion of curriculum content. Great emphasis is also placed on the interdisciplinary linking of knowledge from different areas of human knowledge.
