The paper offered a modest take on the pre-classical contacts between the Thracian lands and the Aegean or Western Anatolia in the Bronze Age. Discussed were both imports and influences from the South to the North, but also the other way around, as there are also Balkan influences in the Aegean.

Since we know more about the socio-cultural and political development in the southern Aegean, than we know about northern Aegean and the Balkans, any of the mentioned contacts were thus framed within and discussed against the situation in the South.
