Opening presentation. I the framework of celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Education of the Charles University in Prague, the Department of Music held a musical pedagogical symposium dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Czech pedagogue, psychologist and didactist doc.

On this occasion, it was also remembered for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Czech music theorist and pedagogue PhDr. Eduard Herzog.
The event took place on November 16, 2016 at the Memorial of National Literature in the Hall of B. Němcová in the Strahov Monastery.
The content was reflection and discussion of traditions, current issues and perspectives of music pedagogy, psychology and didactics. The lecture deals with the history of the Department of Music Education from the time of its foundation to the present, talks about individual prominent personalities of this workplace and acquaints with study programs including the application of students in pedagogical practice.
