The aim of the presentation is to present the results of research on how the primary school teachers adapt textbooks'materials and from which reasons. We have used the on-line questionnaire with 5 point Lickert scales and teachers'interviews to answer the research questions.
We have learnt that the relationship of the teachers to the textbooks is quite ambivalent- on one side they are quite dependent on them, on the other side they feel guilty because of that. Beginners more adapt textbooks because of the needs of pupils- foreigners, the more experienced ones because of the needs of children with dyslexia.
