Abstract

The article deals with the concept of kingship in Fifth Dynasty Egypt. By taking into account a diverse range of data, including architecture and decoration of royal complexes but also religion, politics and social media, the article explores the evolution of the royal ideology in the Fifth Dynasty, with a specific focus on the idea of the double nature of the king, who embeddes in his person both human and divine aspects.
