The article focuses on analyzing the function of the museum from the perspective of constructivist pedagogy and methods of critical thinking. Depending on the theoretical reflection, the text presents the methods of the educational program "Museum Secrets", which seeks to apply the above mentioned bases to the practice of museum education in relation to pupils of primary school.
An important part of the text is the reflection of the existing experience from the realization of the program in Ethographical museum of the National Museum in Prague.
