Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen |
2018

Abstract

The relationship between the patient and the doctor greatly contributes to successful treatment. Nowadays the traditinonally directive approach from the doctor to the patient is gradually being replaced by a more parnership-oriented approach.

Eduaation at medical school should, apart from imparting theoretical knowledge, emphasise proper approach to the patient and communication skills training. The Czech medical schools are being inspired by the standardised patient teaching method, which gives students feedback for their tratment of the patient.

To be able to better empathise with the patient, role palying is practiced, along with educative videos and popular films.
